The health problems we grow only cost the whole lot of us in the end. Keep up the pressure, everyone. Do what you can- talk to the teachers, and the students. Find out what is happening in your neighborhood. Start a committee- make some noise!
W00t
xjJJhttp://www.cuisineenlocale.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135636439688859652.post-29798609563927480452010-03-04T12:55:18.580-05:002010-03-04T12:55:18.580-05:00Yes JJ I am scared too. For those of us without children, I am amazed that children are being fed sugar and other crazy chemicals during the most important developmental period of their lives! And to think that academic scores aren't related to their nutrition? I think not...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4135636439688859652.post-88142561754486345292010-03-01T22:54:13.882-05:002010-03-01T22:54:13.882-05:00My daughter ate school lunch three days in a row l...My daughter ate school lunch three days in a row last week...just happened to be three things she liked in a row, she only likes to have school lunch certain days, so I must confess I don't worry too much since it's only a few days a month.... Anyway, she ended up with a huge tummyache (constipation) by Thursday. I have to think these things are somehow related! Although I have to say, after the school lunch problem is solved, the after school snack program is next. I have only recently begun to pay close attention, but I have recently realized that the after school program - as lovely and caring as all of those people are - are feeding a lot of very packaged, processed granola bars, snack crackers, etc.....fine for a once in a while treat, but for many kids this is five days a week....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
